You've been part of our family for 4 weeks, although you've been part of our hearts since our first CHSFS orientation meeting. You are getting adjusted, settling in very well and we're starting to get to know the "real you".
You are our "observer". You watch everything around you with intense concentration and a little forehead wrinkle. Last night when Daddy and I ran the church nursery, you were content to watch the five 2-year-olds play around you. You were, surprisingly, not overwhelmed and were content to play with the toys right around you as you watched the chaos all around. You don't miss a beat, however! It's getting harder and harder to distract you from what you want. You love eating magazines and newspapers. If we take them away and "hide" them, you always know right where they are and wait until we turn the other way to charge after them again.
Your favorite game is Peek-a-Boo. You have a great belly laugh when someone peek-a-boos you and you love playing peek-a-boo with Mom around the ottoman. Peek-a-boo in the mirror is always a great game, and you've figured out "Where's Taebin?"--in the mirror, of course.
You are a voracious eater, chugging 5 full bottles a day and eating 1-2 jars of babyfood for breakfast, lunch and supper. Oatmeal with yogurt is a great bedtime snack!
You have become an accomplished crawler, since arriving home. But, you're happiest when you can stand up with support from a chair, couch, or nearby table. You like see how long you can stand up with "no hands". You're starting to see the benefits of walking, but have a ways to go before you can chase Jazzmine or Amelia.
You worship your sister. You watch her like a hawk, with great interest in all she does. She gives you big, squishy hugs constantly and helps Mom give you bottles. She likes to make your formula (counting out the scoops of powder), mixes your oatmeal for you, picks your clothes (often pajamas instead of clothes...guess she wants you to be comfy) and brings you washcloths, bibs and spoons. It's hard for her to share our attention and her toys, and I look forward to the day when you're big enough to defend yourself!
We are just thrilled that you're here and I'm proud as a peacock to be your mom!
Love,
Mom
