I'm a Slacker Mom...But Amelia Seems to be Turning out OK

For about a month now, I've been seeing notes up at Daycare advertising the upcoming Holiday Concert.  I never thought that my 15-month old Amelia would be part of it, so I didn't pay any attention.  Then, last night when I picked her up there was a note by her things reminding me that Amelia was supposed to arrive at 9:45 this morning.  What?!!!

Well, despite my oblivious-ness, this morning we were treated to the most wonderful concert!  I was so proud of little Amelia, who sat on the riser in her spot wearing her little Christmas dress.  She didn't pull her dress up over her head revealing her undergarments to the world.  She didn't cry.  In fact, she clapped (mostly on cue) and did the right "Wheels on the Bus" hand motion at the right time.  Clearly, she's been working on this and I think she was pretty proud of herself.  Although, it was confusing as to why all these people were there watching her.

It was a wonderful feeling to be a parent (not an aunt, friend, or distant relative) in the audience.

Nice job, little girl!  Mom couldn't be prouder.

How are you supposed to get any embarrassing stories to tell at her wedding if she insists on behaving herself at pre-school concerts??? The "pulling up the dress" is a classic. Way to be a star, Amelia! Love SC
